EXTREME SLIDING! ‘ “Oh come on, have a go!” yelled Mrs McConnell. I was sitting on the playground next to the slide. “I’ll think about it.” I had said. “If you go down, I’ll go down after you.” Mr Zanker had offered. “No thanks.” I replied. Later on, with a little encouragement from the staff, I had sat down on the top of the slide. I pushed off gently, Cassius had a huge run up, and off we went, slipping and sliding all around the place at high speed! I was leading and Cassius was flailing his arms about in attempt to gain more speed. He didn’t even reach the bottom of the slide. Afterwards I went speeding down several more times, I tried to do a running jump, but slipped and fell backwards, it took me a couple of seconds to get down the slide, but I still beat Cassius. I sprinted up to the back of the line and waited patiently for 5 minutes. I then slid down once more only to find it had been covered with dishwashing liquid, so now it was slippery as ever! Cassius beat me to the bottom of the slide this time. (Only because he got himself covered in dishwashing liquid as well as the slide!). We then agreed to see who could go the furthest off the slide. But to our horror, the staff were getting rid of the slide!!!!! I really enjoyed the experience; I can’t wait for year ten camp, that’ll be really fun!!!! Shaun Robertson 8ZA 2015 |
